These are so simple and easy to make, perfect to make with kids this valentines day or if you just fancy a cute yummy treat. This mixture makes about 7-8 medium heart shaped treats.
What you will need
200g mini marshmallows, 200g rice krispies, 200g, butter, white chocolate, heart shaped cookie cutter No need for food colouring the pink and white marshmallows turn the mixture a light pink shade.

Add 200g of butter and marshmallows to a pan on low heat, stir for around two minutes until the marshmallows begin to melt, add the rice krispies and boil for 1 minute. It's easier to get someone else to pour the rice krispies in as the marshmallows can easily burn. Stir in until it's all nicely mixed together and you have a nice big pan of pink gooey rice krispie goodness.

Lightly grease a shallow baking tray and pour the rice krispie mixture evenly into a the tray. On all websites it told us to cut the mixture into hearts when it was still warm. I found this impossible, the mixture wouldn't hold whatsoever. I put the baking tray in the fridge for 20 minutes to let the mixture set.
When they tray was cold to the touch I lightly greased the heart shaped cookie cutter and began cutting out heart shapes (and eating the left over rice krispie mix) Now the rest of it is up to you as you can decorate them however you want. I drizzled the hearts with white chocolate. For kids I'm sure coloured sprinkles, chocolate chips would be good fun to decorate :) as a valentines day activity!

I love anything heart shaped, food is instantly 10x cuter. These would be great to make a batch of for a tasty valentines day treat or even as a light little homemade dessert. What do you think?

They are SO cute Becky! I will most definitely be making a batch for Valentines day :) Did you use food colouring, or is it the marshmallows that makes them pink?

Hope thats okay :) I love your blog xxx
I made these and they came out great! Not quite as pink as yours though, if I make then again I might just use pink ones. They were a bit too buttery for my taste though so I might put 100g -150g in next time.
ReplyDeleteomg mine turned out so bad haha maybe ill stick to blogging
ReplyDeleteOh wow, these look delicious! I think i will be trying this soon :)
